The Eastern Sierra Observatory has partnered with Sara Kaiser of Wakeful Ascent Aerial to bring you a Stargazing Silks Workshop! October 18th - 20th, 2019 — Guests will receive two 90 minute sessions of instruction on the silks, up to 4 hours of open silk time, and the typical accommodations of the Eastern Sierra Observatory — SHIFTPOD with memory foam space bed and bedding, hot tub, stargazing lounge, and observing the cosmos through the huge Meade 14” telescope. You’ll also receive digital images of yourself on the silks under the stars!


  • Two nights in your own SHIFTPOD equipped with memory foam space bed and bedding

  • Two 90 minutes Stargazing Silks Workshops with Sara Kaiser (Friday & Saturday nights)

  • Four hours of open silks time — 7-8 AM & 2-4 PM on Saturday, & 7-8 AM on Sunday

  • Picture of you on the silks under the stars — we’ll give you a high resolution digital copy

  • Hot tub

  • Observing the cosmos through the huge 14” telescope

  • Fruit, donuts, and coffee on Saturday and Sunday mornings

  • A grill/camp kitchen to prepare your lunch/dinners if needed

  • Hot shower, and extra clean porta-potty

  • Towels for the shower and hot tub, if needed

You Bring:

  • Your lunch and/or dinners

  • Comfortable clothing for the silks, hot tub, and potentially chilly nights

  • A headlamp for navigating around in the dark

  • Anything else you’d like to be comfortable
