The Best Meteor Shower Of The Summer!
The best meteor shower of the summer is almost upon us! The Perseid Meteor Shower is known for producing streaking fireballs at a rate of up to 100 meteors per hour! This spectacle is best viewed about three nights before or after the “peak” — although any of the nights in the vicinity are fair game to be the “best.” In general, any given night near the peak ranges from “good” to “amazing,” so you really can’t go wrong as long as you’re looking up!
Did we mention we have brand new extra comfy zero gravity chairs, which fully recline and make looking up an extra joy? Well, we do! 🤩
Up To 100 Meteors Per Hour!
In addition to the meteor shower comes our unique stargazing experience featuring a huge telescope operated for you by our host, a hot tub, SHIFTPOD accommodations with padded cots, a huge grill and griddle for your cooking needs, a pool table, giant chess set, and amazing views of the Eastern Sierra! You’ll also be able to download the objects we view through the telescope straight to your smartphone!
While there will be a fair bit of moonlight during this year’s shower, the Perseids produces enough long, streaking fireballs to keep the night interesting. Also, Saturn will be in view and is one of the best things to lay your eyes on in all of the cosmos!

Please note that per the agreed to ticketing terms for Bookings for up to TWO People: ALL SALES ARE FINAL AND THERE ARE NO REFUNDS. No changes can be made to this reservation. Cancellations and no-shows will be afforded a 50% credit towards any of our future events. You are also welcome to transfer/give away/sell your reservation if you cannot attend. If the Eastern Sierra Observatory has to cancel your visit for some crazy reason (due to weather for example), then you will be afforded a 100% credit towards a future visit or event.
