“Group” visits are for any sized group of up to 16 people,
with special reduced pricing for groups of up to 10 people Monday - Thursday Nights
When you book a group stay, your group will be the only one for that night and you’ll have the place to yourselves (the host/telescope operator will be on hand, too). For a more detailed description of what to expect when visiting, please read this article and/or check out our FAQ.
If you’re bringing a group of up to 10 people instead of 16, use promo code “ten” for speicial pricing of $1295/night — valid for Monday - Thursday night visits.
Use the calendar below to view the available dates. Please note that “Moonlit” nights are the same as regular nights, but happen on nights when the moon is present in the sky, and so the moonlight drowns out some of the starry sky. That being said, the moon itself is pretty awesome to look at through the telescope!

Booking for Parties of up to TWO People:
FOR A LIMITED TIME — YOU WILL RECIEVE ONE FREE TICKET TO ONE OF OUR DARK SKY FESTIVALS OR METEOR SHOWER PARTIES FOR EVERY PARTY OF TWO NIGHT BOOKED!
We offer select nights for parties of up to TWO people in ONE SHIFTPOD. On these nights there will be up to 16 guests total. Also, please consider our Death Valley Starcamp (separate location), or other larger Meteor Shower Parties and Dark Sky Festivals on our Events page which are great for solo travelers, as well as parties of two, families, etc.
Sometimes mixing groups of random people can get awkward, so, when you visit the observatory with your party of up to two, we’ll attempt to place you with like-minded people as there will be up 16 guests total on the night(s) of your stay. Please choose a QUIET STARGAZING NIGHT if you prefer a more calm and quiet atmosphere, or choose an ADULT ONLY PARTY NIGHT if you like a more loud and lively scene later into the night. All the amenities of a regular group visit will be available to guests on these nights except for the hot tub. Please note that per the ticketing agreement for Bookings for up to TWO People: All sales are final and there are no refunds. No changes can be made to this reservation. Cancellations and no-shows will be afforded a 50% credit towards any of our future Dark Sky Festivals or Meteor Shower Parties within the next two years which can be found here: Events. You are also welcome to transfer/give away/sell your reservation if you cannot attend. If the Eastern Sierra Observatory has to cancel your visit for some crazy reason (due to weather for example), then you will be afforded a 100% credit towards a future visit or event.
